I have spent around a
dozen days fishing with Steve Bryson over the past few years.
These days have been among my most pleasant and successful days
of fishing ever. Steve represents the ideal combination of
professionalism, fly fishing expertise, knowledge of the best
fishing spots on the Tellico and Hiwassee Rivers, teaching
ability and patience, and a great personality. He is equally
adept going after big trout on big water, and stalking native
brookies and rainbows in the high elevation tributaries. His
hand tied custom flies really get the fish excited. The fact
that Steve is also a helicopter ambulance medic adds an extra
measure of safety on the river. Fish with Steve -- you will have
a great time.

Steve, My name is
Wil and I booked a float trip through you last week. I just
wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed the trip. Skip was
our guide and was a class act. Not only did he work hard to put
us on some fish, but also went out of his way to make us feel
like home by making us some sandwiches. I've had several
experiences with guides and I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed
this one the most. I came away short of my goal to catch one a
big Hiwassee brown, but had a great time none the less and I'm
sure to try again soon.

Steve, Our trip last
week on the Hiwassee was just the type of refresher course that
I needed. I don't get out on the water often enough and you were
able to point out a number of ways that I could improve, ranging
from presentation, to casting, to fly selection, all of your
advice and counsel was greatly appreciated. I would not
hesitate to refer others to you and I've already given your name
and contact information to a friend.

Steve, Thanks for a
GREAT trip! My son-in-law, Josh, & I really enjoyed it! Just
wish the weather had co-operated better. I'm sure we would
have a caught a lot more fish if we could have spent more
time on the "trophy section". Maybe NEXT time. Thanks again!

Steve, Back in July
you taught me the basics in your fly fishing class. It was well
worth the money! You'll probably remember me because I was the
only one in the class. I was the long time backpacker who wanted
to pick up fly fishing to accompany my hiking hobby. Well after
hours of casting practice in my yard and at a pond near my
house, I went on a backpacking trip with my friends and this
time I took my fly rod for the first time in the
backcountry...we went to the Smokies. I did what you said. Stay
low, short casts, and keep as much line off the water as
possible. Being October, the water was really low and clear. I
don't know if the fish were really desperate for food and being
dumb or if it was beginner's luck but i stopped counting fish
after my 10th one. My wife and friends told me I was making look
real easy as they watched. Anyway, I managed to get a few 10
inch rainbows and my best catches of the trip were two 7/8 inch
specs. For my first wild trout trip, I deemed it a success. I
just might have to pay for one of those guided trips so you can
show me some honey holes on the Tellico/North Rivers. Thanks
again.
